Ajogwu Boluwatife Vincent, also known as Major AJ, is taking the entire music industry by the neck. As Chocolate city’s brand new signee, the singer/songwriter is new to the music scene and clearly here to stay.
Defining his sound all the way in 2020 before getting signed in 2022, Major AJ’s sound is everything Afrobeats and afro-futuristic with subtle hints of disco. Putting everything from live instruments and 90’s elements in his music, his talent and creativity is completely unquestionable.
His EP, ‘Retroverse’ was released on the 14th of July and is currently doing numbers. With songs like ‘Ominirascal‘ and ‘Taboo‘, Major AJ is certain to gain the recognition he deserves in no time.
The artist was first recognized in 2021 for his freestyle on the Clubhouse app.
His song ‘Taboo’ talks about a love interest that might not be meant for him but how he’s willing to risk it all for her. The visuals of the song which was released on the 15th of July, contains noticeable elements of Micheal Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ including the infamous red outfit.
As the new kid on the block, Major AJ is making a distinctive sound of his own which is wildly impressive. With the work he has put in to create his sound, witnessing Major AJ grow into an international sound is well in our future.
