Toyin Ores is one of the few that have lived the life of both worlds as a producer and music artiste. It all began with the fiery musical desires many had in high school. What started out as “harmless” tunes on Fruity Loops became the foundation for a huge career, having created iconic beats for many popular names including artistes like ShowDemCamp, Wizkid and Tems.
Toyin’s latest work is “Kokose” on which he features popular highlife duo, The Cavemen and it is a beautiful blend of Afrofusion, Afropop and Highlife that explores the wonders of love and the things we do because of it.
Real names Oluwatoyin Eyimofe Oresanya, the Lagos-based musician has opened up for major industry acts like Mr Eazi, Patoraking, Joey Badass, and Kyle. Toyin has a good efflux of projects in which he displays the importance of his role in creating tunes that form the backbone of a song, which is a vital role commonly overlooked by casual listeners.
A coach wouldn’t be training a boxer if he didn’t have a few tricks up his sleeve, and in the same manner, being a producer gives Toyin that edge and understanding of how to blend the flow of the song with the beat. A representation of just how he does that is on full display with “Kokose”.
Millennials across Africa and in the diaspora have the same picture of what the world should look like. We are documenting it in the coolest ways 🤘
