After touring through multiple Nigerian projects and making “featuring The Cavemen” something to yearn for, the highlife duo is back with a brand new single to remind us of what made us fall in love with them.
The song begins with a crowd chorus that introduces us to the main point of the song, which is The Cavemen incessantly asking an Adaugo if she will ever leave. It brings us to the awareness of a love interest who has completely captured her lover’s heart.
With lyrics that remind us of a song from their debut album “Me, You, I” that speaks directly to the one you love, Adaugo creates an immediate soft spot on one’s heart on first listen.
The traditional Igbo flute, called “oja”, is played as an outro from the song to woo this Adaugo who is loved “just tonight” as it is said in the lyrics. The Cavemen have mastered the art of portraying love as intimately as possible through traditional music. They have proven in more ways than one, that highlife can be fused with different genres of music.
On first listen, the song Adaugo might have you wanting to be smitten by your very own Adaugo and it might be your ex or current love interest.
