Teswess’s art blurs the margins between poetry and music. The Nigerian singer/rapper manifests a fusion of both in a matrimony called “rap-singing” which he uses to skillfully weave stories.
Born and bred in Nigeria, artists like Olamide seem to be his major inspirations and set the mould that shaped his art– making use of distinct afrobeats sounds to word out his lyrics.
Though his musical career just began, the number of ears Teswess’ sound permeates is fast on the rise. His sounds magically captivates the listeners and like every good magician, Teswess has more than one trade up his sleeve.
He also works as a bag designer and is an amazing cinematographer. Zealous followers of his Instagram get to see him play the role of a philosopher, giving viewers food for thoughts on various topics with aesthetically-pleasing videos.
He released ‘Lepa Shandy’ in 2021; a smooth ballad with a popping beat that gets the feet jiving. Teswess also released ‘Juice & Henny‘, another bop of a song that brings the party vibes with tropical sounds and clear intentions to have a good time.
‘E Pain Me’ is his latest work in which Teswess throws on a splash of sentiment, mixed with a tinge of realism, singing about the tribulations of Nigerian citizens and the state of the country in this track. The uncertainty of Nigeria’s future leadership among all other things vexes him sorely and he lets his listeners know.
With Teswess one can only expect individuality which births interesting music that earns a nod of approval from many. It is exciting to find out what he will create next.
