Being a music artist is everything but a piece of cake. This is why the up moments are to be cherished and celebrated. We had the remarkable musician, Praiz, share his most important wins with us in this DM5. We hope these inspire you.
1. Becoming a label owner
Starting up my own record label and signing myself after 9 years with my former label was a significant moment for me in my career. It showed growth.
2. Joining the GRAMMYs as academy member
I had always wanted to be a grammy winner or even a nominee. I remember making a collage at the project fame academy of things we wanted in our lives, and I added a picture of a grammy plaque to my collage. It feels great to see it manifesting because being inducted to the Grammy Recording Academy as a member showed me that there is so much progress being made in my career.
3. US recognition
Most times I just hope for certain things and wouldn’t imagine some other things like being awarded “Praise Adejo Day” in the United States of America. On the 6th of February, I was the first African artist proclaimed in the state of Minnesota, USA. Coincidentally, it’s the date my parents got married. It was predestined.
4. Multiple awards
Even though I feel awards should not validate how great an artist is, it’s also a great feeling to receive awards for art put out. I have been nominated for and have won numerous awards that recognize the music I put out.
5. Making my parents proud
One of the highlights of my career spans back to when I started. Bringing my mum on stage at the Project Fame show in 2008 and making my parents proud on national TV was special for me and gave me so much confidence to push on .
