In 2017, fans of African pop music got the biggest heartbreaking news of their lives, waking up to hear that their favourite musical duo of Peter and Paul Okoye had disbanded and were going. After that, fans still couldn’t choose what side to be on and so it made the year for many in 2021 to hear that the twins would be back as a team.
Since they got back together, the duo have released two songs together and have been gracing stages all over the world, performing both the new songs and their tremendously popular classics.
Earlier this month, Psquare alongside other African acts headlined Afrobeats Music Festival in Toronto, Canada; and it was an aura of nostalgia amongst other emotions which Mike Rukundo has captured in the following photos slide.
After relocating to Canada in 2018, Mike’s photography journey kick started and ever since, he has not stopped documenting important moments including Tiwa Savage’s “Water & Garri” tour, Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” world tour and Davido’s “WRBLO” tour, if only a few were to be mentioned.
Mike doubles as a student of Civil Engineering at York University.
