With a partnership deal between DefJam Recordings and NATIVE Records, ODUMODUBLVCK has released his very much anticipated ‘EZIOKWU’ mixtape which features Amaarae, Reeplay, Blaqbonez, Bella Shmurda, Cruel Santino, Teezee, Bloody Civillian, Fireboy DML, Zlatan, Psycho YP, Ecko Miles and Wale. Here are 5 crazy things you probably never knew about its creation.
- Some songs just had to happen
Some of the songs on the mixtape were recorded while I was incredibly tired. I had to squeeze them out. I had just come back from the club, tired, but I still had to record. Including ‘BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR’, ‘TESLA BOY’ and ‘SAINT OBI’.
- The producers are my friends
All the producers on the mixtape are my boys. ABJ boys and Lagos boys; even underground.
- Its shape kept changing
EZIOKWU changed from an EP, to an LP, to an album, to a mixtape.
- The Surgery
‘HAMMERTIME’ and ‘SAINT OBI’ were recorded after my surgery.
- Trill didn’t want the names on DECLAN RICE
Trill didn’t want me to add those names on ‘DECLAN RICE’; “Trillo”, “Willo” and the rest of them. He said they were too much and that the song was full already. I told him to do his and allow me to do mine. Later on, he came around to the idea.

Itty can be caught studying African pop culture, writing about it or hosting a relationship podcast. When he's not doing any of these, then he's definitely at a bar, getting mocktail.
