If you have been sleeping on Tay Iwar, this is your cock crow and disturbing early morning preacher. Tay has been making some of the best R&B songs out of Africa for about a decade. He also happens to have songwriter credits on some great African music projects, including Made In Lagos, Boy Alone etc. We have made you a list of Tay Iwar songs you want to begin your fandom journey with. Number four is a guaranteed repeat.
Summer Breeze
You can already tell what type of energy this song exudes from the title alone. This song will have you in a ‘“eel good” mood and swaying from side to side. The perfect song to chill and serenade your mind and soul.
Peaking
This is the perfect song for “lovers” to ease into the moment. Emphasis on just lovers, before you make that call to your ex because you’re in your feelings.
Don’t Lie
Debatably one of the best songs on his “Summer Breeze” album. Although it’s a heartbreak song, it still serves as a tune to relax to. This track has Tay Iwar pouring his heart out to a supposed ex-lover to take him back. And even though you may shed a tear or two (say you are actually heartbroken), there’s a likely chance you may feel better. Do not quote me, however.
True Love (With Wizkid & Projexx)
Whether it was Wizkid’s choice, or someone suggested putting Tay Iwar on this magical track, this song is a pure gem. The sync in this song is nothing short of mind blowing! From the way their vocals intertwined beautifully, to the grooving beat, this track had us in proper chokehold in 2020. The song will probably make you believe in love again.
Escapism (With Bloody Civilian & Fave)
This collaboration makes it safe to say that when Tay jumps on a song, it becomes a masterpiece. No doubt, each artist and the producer brought their A game to make this song the jam it is, but Tay Iwar’s entrance towards the end brought the glue to seal it all up. It was like after recording, Bloody felt something was missing and Tay Iwar brought the razzle-dazzle to wrap everything up.
