For the 40th time, Canada is taking out a week to celebrate her music and the growth of their music industry. This year, the festival runs from Tuesday 7th June till Saturday the 11th, with multiple music business panel sessions.
Beautiful news is that on Friday the 10th at 1:35pm Canadian time, there will be a panel discussion about the rise of Afrobeats and African music in Canada. The panel is to be moderated by Chinedu Ukabam and features celebrated talent manager Godwin Tom, broadcaster Adesope Olajide, Julz Ossom, Kwadwo Ampofo (DJ Black) and Lukman Akanbi.
The impact of African music in Canada over the last year cannot be overlooked, considering the rise of Afrobeats creators like Bolu Ajibade, EverythingOshaun, Cassa, Ose, KT3, Kunle and a host of many other uber talented artists.
And in the coming years, African music will scale even higher with panel sessions like this addressing the challenges faced by the culture in Canada and providing workable solutions to them.
Itty can be caught studying African pop culture, writing about it or hosting a relationship podcast. When he's not doing any of these, then he's definitely at a bar, getting mocktail.
