Canadian-Jamaican artist, King Cruff , known for his introspective storytelling and fusion of genres is back again with his latest single, “Fallback” alongside Jamaican reggae artist, Runkus. His unique sound and immersive style are evident in his previous singles “Shedoeneed” featuring Stonebwoy and Jag.Huligin, “Soufflé”, and his major label debut “Samurai Chop”.
“Fallback” centers around heartbreak while still maintaining the original elements of hip-hop, dancehall, reggae, funk, Afrobeats, and jazz. With King Cruff’s ability to merge sounds and compelling storytelling, “Fallback” once again showcases an artist filled with versatility and creativity. Adding to this excitement comes the stunning music video directed by Kit Weyman. This video comes second to King Cruff’s “Ackee Metaphor series” which aims to pay tribute to the island’s folklore through rich scenery and meaningful symbolism.
King Cruff is also in a momentum as he is set to be hitting Jamaican stages this month with performances at Skratch Bastid’s block party Bastid’s BBQ Jamaica this Sunday and in Kingston at Super Heavy on February 28th before his Canadian tour with hip-hop artist DillanPonders for March.
