Spotlight: Kranium
Kemar Donaldson, who also goes by the moniker, Kranium, has spent the last decade proving that melody really can be a weapon. Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the self-proclaimed Melody Gad carved out his lane in global dancehall and reggae by skillfully blending seductive R&B undertones with his unmistakable patois flow.
Kranium is one of few dancehall talents signed to a major American label, Atlantic Records, where he continues to deliver heat that bridges his Caribbean roots and NYC home base. From club anthems to slow-wine serenades, his catalogue has become a soundtrack for a new generation of reggae lovers.
“Melody is what makes people remember you. That’s why I’m the Melody Gad.” — Kranium, Billboard Interview (2019)
This is us extending an invite to his upcoming appearance in Waterloo, Ontario’s Rare Nightclub for their 1 year anniversary. Here are the songs you need to learn so you can sing along and really feel the melody directly in your cranium.

Higher Life
(featuring Chronic Law)

Nobody Has to Know
The breakout hit that made him Kranium also set the stage for his career as a sensual, secretive, and smooth crooner. A timeless tune that perfectly captures what makes his sound unforgettable. Even a decade later, this remains the defining track for Kranium’s intimate storytelling style.
