December comes with a lot of wraps; self reflection, Christmas festivities, friends and family reunion courtesy to the IJGB community. As the year wraps up, corporate offices, institutes of learning close up for the year to celebrate the holidays and this analogy birthed the youth craze ‘Detty December’ which in the internet generation stands for 31 days of creating unforgettable raving experience before embarking on another stretching 365 days cycle or 366, all thanks to February 2024.
Show Dem Camp totally understood the need to end the year in an unprecedented electrifying note, so, every year we enjoy a groundbreaking avant-garde music experience from the finest lineup of music powerhouses in the industry, while reminiscing on the sweet savor of our best selling indigenous palm wine.
Palmwine Fest highlights bespoke artistic direction that provides a whole complete experience, mind blowing performances from the best acts you had no either you needed, gracefully selected by the able duo, Show Dem Camp, all thanks to their eye for identifying quality acts. As we count down to the auspicious day, we sipped coffee and had a little chat with some beneficiaries who have experienced the goodness of the Palmwine Fest and felt eager to testify.

What is that one thing that blew your mind at your last Palmwine Fest experience?
The one thing that always blows my mind at Palmwine Fest is the general experience (the photo booths, palm wine and music). The musical experience is just different.
Apart from Show Dem Camp, what other artist performance are you looking forward to at the upcoming PWF?
I’m looking forward to Tems’ performance. I’ve never experienced her music live. Tomi Thomas as well. I love his music and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing him. Bloody Civilian too!

Whose performance did you find the most thrilling at your last PWF experience?
Asides SDC’s, I’d say Santi. It was electrifying. The crowd went crazy when he performed.
Rate Show Dem Camp’s performance on a scale of 0-10
I’d give it an 8.9. The other 1.1 was because sometimes the mics had issues here and there so they had to switch real quick while performing. Love the fact that they added the ad libs from the songs. That was cool. The band was great! And the back up singers? Flawless. The guy who stood in for Moelogo’s part of No Regrets and the lady who sang WYW totally killed it.The live sound was on point and it was so dope. They gave my favourite songs the best twist.
Give us one reason no one should miss this year’s edition.
As Ghost said, “If you want that original vibe you gon’ blast this”. And as Tec said, “it’s music that’s timeless.” In summary, They make music that’s both suitable for cruising and classic moments. It’s simply amazing the way they can switch between moods and they did so very well last year, so if you want a great time come through!
Another reason no one should miss it is because SDC puts you on to the best acts you didn’t know you needed! They have an eye for quality acts and I think that’s one of their super powers.
By the way, if I can just add, There’s something about last year’s PWF art direction and roll out that was just so amazing. We felt the vibe even before we got there. It was a complete experience from socials to the experience itself. And I’d like them to up the ante on the show over the next 10 days. Get people buzzing, buzzing lol.
All in all, I trust them to deliver a great show this year. They’re the only show I’m going to and I know they’ll kill it.

How many Palmwine Fest experiences do you have and what would you say is your favourite part of those experiences?
I’ve attended one Palmwine Festival so far, the next one would be my second & I’m very much looking forward to it. Last year’s edition was immense. Top notch experience, with so many appearances. I think the value for money was top tier. I really don’t have a stand out favourite moment cause I really did enjoy myself, start to finish.
Which of the artists from the performance line up are you looking forward to?
The lineup looks insane. I’m looking forward to seeing every artist to be honest, especially Tems, Ladipoe, Ajebutter22, Soundz , Bloody Civilian, Moleogo.
What would you say is a must-have for an unforgettable PWF experience?
Palmwine, readiness to drown in the moment and the right vibe.
